Real Madrid star Federico Valverde scores stunning goal to equalise in Mallorca clash

Real Madrid star Federico Valverde scored a stunning solo goal to draw his side level against Mallorca in their La Liga clash on Sunday. The reigning champions had fallen behind when Vedat Muriqi put the visitors ahead. However, he ran the length of the opposing half to boost his side's chances of picking up all three points.

Real Madrid have gone into their clash with Mallorca hoping to record a seventh straight win of the season.

They experienced a difficult first half, however, with Muriqi rising above Ferland Mendy to head the visitors in front - despite the hosts dominating the contest at the time.

Just before the interval, though, Valverde struck.

The Uruguay international, who has become an increasingly important figure for the club in the wake of Casemiro’s move to Manchester United, ran the length of the opposing half to blast the ball into the net and draw his side level.

Real fans roared their approval, with Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr then mobbing their team-mate as he celebrated his strike.

It was just what Real deserved, too, given how much they’ve been dictating proceedings before the ball went in.

In the first half they recorded 15 shots, with four on target, while Mallorca could only muster three in return.

Real dominated the ball, having 72 per cent of possession - meaning their opponents had just 28 per cent.

Real completed more passes with 362, compared to Mallorca’s 133.

And Carlo Ancelotti’s side also had a 91 per cent pass accuracy, as well as committing less fouls and picking up less yellow cards during the opening 45 minutes.

Real go into the game hoping to make it five La Liga wins on the trot.

And they’re also aiming to respond after Barcelona leapfrogged them at the top of the table with a 4-0 win over Cadiz on Saturday night.

The Catalan giants had to wait to make a breakthrough away from home, with Frenkie de Jong then providing it in the 55th minute.

Robert Lewandowski doubled their advantage 10 minutes later, continuing his stellar start to life at the club.

And Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele bagged in the closing stages to give Xavi’s side a vital win in their quest to win the La Liga title.

Speaking before the game with Mallorca, meanwhile, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti opened up on Eden Hazard.

"Hazard did well against Celtic,” he said.

“Tomorrow, I will play him. Let's hope he can have a great game.”

And he added: "Against Celtic, we did not have the same system. It might be that Hazard does not have the same run of goals that Karim has because it has been a while since he played.

"I am going to ask him to play well, as he did against Celtic, in order to maintain the good offensive attitude.”

Nyinyir Presiden La Liga: Mbappe Main di Liga yang Gak Kompetitif

Presiden La Liga, Javier Tebas terang-terangan mengkritik PSG dan Kylian Mbappe. Menurutnya Mbappe tidak bermain di tim terbaik, tidak juga di liga terbaik.

Nama Mbappe jadi salah satu yang paling sering disebut di bursa transfer musim panas ini. Sejak awal, muncul gosip bahwa Mbappe bakal meninggalkan PSG untuk Real Madrid.

Biar begitu, kepindahan Mbappe gagal karena banyak faktor pengaruh. PSG habis-habisan mempertahankan Mbappe, bahkan kabarnya memberikan privilese ekstra.

Baru-baru ini, Tebas diminta mengomentari kegagalan Mbappe ke Madrid. Pasalnya, sejak kepergian Ronaldo-Messi, popularitas La Liga menurun cukup signifikan.

Mbappe gak kompetitif

Tebas tidak menahan diri. Dia terang-terangan menyebut bahwa Mbappe sekarang bermain untuk klub yang menghambur-hamburkan uang. Kasus Mbappe tidak jauh berbeda dengan Erling Haaland.

"Jika kita melihat klub mereka [Mbappe dan Haaland] sekarang, dapat kita saksikan bahwa mereka adalah klub-klub yang membuang-buang uang," kata Tebas.

"Tentu kami bakal senang jika mereka datang, tapi sejak tahun lalu pun mereka tidak bermain di sini. Mbappe bertahan di liga yang tidak kompetitif [Ligue 1]."

Mbappe bakal ke Madrid?

Mbappe memang batal ke Madrid pada musim panas 2022, tapi kesempatan transfer belum tertutup sepenuhnya. Ada kemungkinan Madrid akan kembali mencoba merekrut Mbappe dalam dua-tiga tahun ke depan.

"Real Madrid akan selalu terus berusaha mendatangkan pemain-pemain terbaik, tapi untuk saat ini Mbappe sudah dilupakan," ujar Florentino Perez beberapa waktu lalu.

Musim panas ini Mbappe meneken kontrak baru di PSG, tapi hanya untuk durasi tiga tahun. Artinya, Madrid tidak perlu menunggu terlalu lama untuk mengejar Mbappe kembali.
